What each shop's page shows
Every open shop's page shows its own phone number, website and directions when we have them, claimed or not. These pages never carry ads for competing shops.
- How shops are ranked
- Lists use Google ratings and review counts, with a small boost for complete, owner-verified listings. Maps use distance alone. Payment cannot move a shop closer. How we rank explains every factor.
- How paid placements appear
- Featured Paid placementA “Featured” listing is paid and can appear only in positions 3 and 6 of a list. It leaves the order of all other shops unchanged.
- What “Owner-verified” means
- Owner-verifiedThe owner claimed the listing. This status is never sold with a placement.
- Where other shops appear
- Nearby shops appear only in a labeled list sorted by distance. Closed shops keep their pages for reference.
Where shop details come from
Shop names, addresses, phone numbers, hours and ratings come from Google. Ratings always credit Google as their source.
Owners who claim a listing can add a description, repairs offered, photos and opening hours labeled “Hours from the owner”. A person reviews photos and any changes to the shop's name, phone number, website or address before publication.
Who pays for the directory
RepairSeeker is built by the team behind BenchKey, software for repair shops. BenchKey pays for it. Listing and claiming a shop are free.
Shops that use BenchKey follow the same ranking rules as every other shop in the directory. Neither using the software nor paying for placement buys a higher position in the ranked order.
